No skin care product can stop aging. However, you can slow down the aging process and try to keep the current skin condition for as long as you can.

Factors that contribute to the aging of the skin can be split into two categories: internal and external. The internal factors include genes and body condition while the latter comprises of sunlight and lifestyle.

As you grow older, the skin becomes less elastic. It becomes tougher as the skin cells fail to regenerate at the speed they used to. You may notice some symptoms of skin aging such dryness, thinning, and decreased sweat production.

Sunlight and lifestyle speeds up the aging process of the skin. They have a greater impact than the internal factors. They are also the primary reasons for premature aging.

Skin with active oil glands tend to be less likely to age compared to other skin types. The oil keeps more moisture in the skin making it more supple and elastic, therefore you look more youthful.

If you plan to use anti aging skin care treatment, you should

1. Use anti aging moisturizers. They can reduce the visible appearances of aging.
2. Use anti aging sunscreens to protect your skin from ultraviolet rays. They also retard premature aging.
3. Exfoliate your skin if you are above 30 years old. Your skin at that age loses its ability to slough off dead skins on the top layer. Exfoliating regenerates new skin.
4. Take antioxidants supplements to slow down aging.

Understanding the cause of aging is important as it determines an effective treatment. With proper treatment, you can maintain your youthfulness as long as time permits.
