The Truth About Dermatologist Skin Care
I used to be a big fan of dermatologist skin care products. I believed that my skin problems necessitated professional care, and could not believe that there was over the counter skin care that would do any good for me. I tried all kinds of dermatology skin care products, beginning when I was 13.
From the beginning of puberty, I just couldn’t be satisfied with the way that my skin looked. At first, it was too oily and acne ridden. I got new acne skin care products practically every other month, but they did not do very much good. They would dry my skin out, but in the process it would become irritated and flaky. Rather than acne, I had what looked like a skin rash. It was not any more appealing than my original problem!
What I didn’t realize was that my dermatologist skin care was part of the problem. You see, dermatology skin care very rarely uses a light touch. The whole point of going to a skin care dermatologist is getting something that will work, and work now. Dermatological skin creams often have steroids, antibiotics, or other harsh ingredients. For severe problems, it can be just what the doctor ordered, but for milder issues, it can often make the problem much worse.
Unfortunately, I didn’t discover this fact until much later. By the time I gave up my faith in dermatologist skin care , I was no longer dealing with the problems of youth, but with those of age. My skin looked mottled to me, and although my friends insisted that there was nothing wrong with it, I knew differently. In her case, however, some of the skincare products had caused a severe reaction. She had not done well with the steroidal cream they had given her, and it made her very sick. She had learned the hard way what she was showing me the easy way: that sometimes over the counter skincare is the very best way to go.
