Putting Your Skin in First Priority
While many would agree that beauty is skin deep, it is still vital that you put a good dose of attention to your skin and ensure that it is protected. After all, it is the most conspicuous organ of the body aside from being the largest. The skin is powerful. It can largely tell about a person. It can create and form lasting, first impressions yet it remains to be regarded unimportant, secondary and minor. The physiology of the skin will not be discussed here but it is important to note that entirely missing appropriate skin care procedures may lead to skin problems that can be, in the future, detrimental to your health.
There a number of those who would opt to go great lengths to improve and enhance their skin texture, elasticity, complexion, etc. Others, however, tend to set aside skin problems and let alone with time, when the reaping is due, it becomes the problem. Some procedures although simple may require daily skin essentials but these chemicals are only aimed to better your skin.
As mentioned earlier, the skin being the most conspicuous is also prone and subject to damage. As it is exposed to heat, dirt, pressure and dust everyday; tips on skin care is vitally major. Here’s a few of them.
Rest
Adequate amount of sleep is always necessary. It rejuvenates your skin aside from relieving you of stress and distress.
Quit smoking
This isn’t easy but smoking has negative effects on the skin causing grayish coloration and dull appearance.
Avoid the sun
Too much sun exposure is harmful for your skin but when this is not avoided, protect yourself with SPF or sunscreen lotions.
Water
Washing or bathing at least once a day does not only make you feel fresh, it also removes all those stuff collected during sleep.
Moisturizers
This perhaps could be overused but moisturizing the skin is like feeding your stomach. It nourishes and sustains your skin.
Exercise
Engage yourself with short yet frequent walks in the park or in the beach. Hit the gym or the dance floor. Exercising does not only benefit your skin but your overall health condition.
Cleansers and Toners
Put a little more attention to your face. Touch it less, use clean sponges and recommended cosmetics if possible especially for delicate skin. Remove make up before you retire to bed.
Diet
Foods and eating habits can greatly affect your skin so watch what you put into your mouth. Taking supplements such as vitamins may improve and help to keep your skin healthy.
Help
For extra sensitive skin and skin problems, a visit to a licensed medical professional will be a better decision than self medication.
It is not expensive to go natural and only if these tips are diligently followed, future skin problems can be avoided. You have to shift that paradigm of yours that skin is not at all important. It functions in so many ways besides protecting you. Give your skin a little pampering. You owe it to yourself after all the days’ hard work.
